Parco delle fonti

A large, well-equipped park on the edge of the historic centre, where nature, history and everyday life have always come together.

A green space right beside the village

Parco delle Fonti is one of the most popular green spaces in Corinaldo: a large, well-equipped area that descends from Viale dietro le Monache down to the Fonti complex, just a short walk from the village’s historic walls. Among trees of various species, open lawns and sheltered corners, it is the place where the people of Corinaldo gather for a walk, to bring their children to play or simply to spend time outdoors.

The park offers a range of amenities for every kind of visitor. There is a playground equipped for younger children, a five-a-side football pitch, a skating rink and a fitness area with equipment for bodyweight exercises, complete with informational panels on proper use. For those simply looking for a convivial moment outdoors, there are a gazebo, tables and benches. The lower entrance is enlivened by two large, colourful mosaics, created through a collaboration between Unitre Corinaldo and several classes from local schools.

The Fonti washhouse

Not far from the park stands the Fonti washhouse complex, built in the early 17th century to collect water drawn from upstream through an aqueduct, traces of which still remain today. The large central basin, around which the washerwomen worked, was renovated by the Municipality in 1937 and transformed into a series of fountains. The washhouse remained in use until the arrival of the first domestic technologies, and today it stands as a tangible testimony to the everyday life of the village in the modern era.

During the summer the park hosts various open-air events.
